Eastern Access Plans Near the River & SSSI

At the recent WRPS AGM it was noted that there are proposals to move the Newmarket Road P&R as part of the Greater Cambridge "Eastern Access" Plans. The WRPS plans a response to the current consultation (ends 22nd December 2021) as the proposed relocation of the P&R brings it very close to the river and the adjacent Wilbraham Fen SSSI. The committee was concerned by the likely impact of the increased noise, air and light pollution. The proposed 3 locations are in the blue area in the map below (which shows the impact zones around the SSSI) and below that an extract of the Consultation Brochure details where the proposed sites and access would be.
