Water Resources East have published their finished Regional Plan - several years in the making. It is a comprehensive document addressing the challenges for the "water stressed" Eastern region and making recommendations for the next 25 years or more. We can look forwards to smart water meters, new reservoirs, limits on abstraction, and stopping water transfers out of the region. None of this will happen quickly and the planned growth of Cambridge has to be balanced against the environmental impacts.

It outline potential environmental improvements but if our rivers are to improve we have to do better than BAU - "Business as Usual".

The report can be viewed on the WRE website or on our Documents Page
